2007 Season Results

The results for overall point score season 2007 are as follows.

1st - Richard Leslie and crew # 19 and #676
2nd - Kevin Clark and crew
3rd - Tom Klenke and crew

Congratulations to all especially crew who are the Boats most valuable asset and impossible to sail without.

It was a very close result based on overall points and consistency . I would like to congratulate Kevin Clark and his crew on Smokin for setting the speed bench mark in almost every regatta they entered .

Tom Klenke must be mentioned also for being out there all of the time, always trying , always having fun and lending huge support to our class.

I would like to thank my fantastic crew of Bill Odgers and Mahalynn Lu for the friendship, committment and will to improve.

Sailor of the Year

As has been advertised we have commenced a new award this year voted by our group and decided by the class officals of the time . The award will be presented every year to the person , crew, owner , Boat that has displayed sportsmanship , competitiveness , consistency and generally enhanced the class . .oh yes and paid their membership!!!

This year the award goes to Dan Hauserman and his crew from Tahoe . Dan has had a year of being very competitive and showed great improvement in results often setting the standard in Boat speed for others to follow .This culminated in Dan's showing at the world's in Santa Cruz where he was more than competitive in such a great field.

Dan's input has been significant in promoting the class in Tahoe and a willing participant in events in the bay area.

I think special mention should be made of a couple of people . Much has been made of the performance of the Smokin team , including their amazing finish of the last race in Santa Cruz . We also should thank Tim and his group on Go Dogs Go for putting such an amazing event together in Santa Cruz.

Well done Dan on behalf of all of our members, sailor of the year 2007.

A huge thank you to Don Jesberg who is currently working very hard on next years calendar which we will present at our meeting.

I would ask you also to contact Tom Klenke or myself with suggestions for our website , we are planning to smarten it up in the near future.

Best wishes for a safe and contented thanksgiving.
